Job Description:
Job purpose The Billing Office Manager is responsible for meeting the requirements and performance standards. Billing Office Managers will be responsible for demonstrating knowledge of team's core processes and functions as well as direct the work efforts and results of the assigned team. Billing Office Managers will be responsible for developing team goals and managing them for results; create an environment for employee satisfaction and retention through coaching, goal setting, and plan development. Duties and responsibilities Perform as a practice expert on all issues relating to billing and intake processes Supervise the daily functions of the team: charge entry, payment posting, reimbursement management, claims submissions, and accounts receivable follow up. Carry out audits of current procedures and processes and review for improvements as well as develop action plans Coordinate time away requests of team members to ensure that all billing responsibilities are covered during a team member's absence. Collaborate with client administrators to ensure team has accurate/complete information to perform required billing functions Ensure the team carries out all functions in compliance with all payers, state, and federal requirements, regulations, and guidelines. Remain updated on HIPAA and all other health management regulations Reporting as needed to management First point of contact for team member needs/questions Responsible for coordination of training of newly hired team members Qualifications Must be able to understand different insurance company policies and procedures and explain them thoroughly Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written Ability to work in a busy and demanding environment Experience in providing a high level of customer service Ability to multi-task and prioritize task Displays a willingness to learn new responsibilities Must have excellent organizational skills. Must have basic understanding of computers and necessary software applications. Education/Experience Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least (1) years experience in medical billing office setting. Working conditions This position works in the billing office of a busy medical oncology/hematology/radiation/urology clinic. This person may be required to travel to different practice locations as needed. Physical requirements This position requires that the employee be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for up to eight hours a day. Some walking and standing will be required when completing certain tasks.
