Rothrock Civil Construction is a family-owned heavy civil contractor building Arizona's infrastructure — earthwork, utilities, and concrete across the Valley. Great projects start with great people. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on HR professional to own our HR function and help keep the people and administrative side of our business running smoothly. What You'll Own Employee experience: Recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, documentation, offboarding, and day-to-day support for our field crews and office team.

Compliance:

Keep our handbook, policies, employee records, and HR practices current with Arizona and federal requirements. Benefits & leave: Administer employee benefits, leave, workers' compensation, and benefit reconciliations.

Payroll:

Review and finalize payroll for submission to our payroll provider.

Office operations:

Keep records, correspondence, administrative needs, and field/office coordination organized and moving.

Leadership support:

Partner with leadership on employee development, workforce planning, and people-related decisions as we grow.

Financial support:

Assist with select financial and administrative duties in coordination with our accountant. Most importantly, own the next step. We need someone who takes initiative and follows things through to completion. In construction, not everyone is sitting in front of email. Know when to send an email — and when a phone call, text, or conversation is what it takes to keep something moving. This position reports to the President, with support from our HR consultant. What We're Looking For 3-5+ years of HR experience, ideally with a field or hourly workforce Payroll processing experience Working knowledge of Arizona and federal employment law Strong communication, organization, judgment, and follow-through Construction experience strongly preferred SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus Someone who earns trust with both field crews and office staff Why Rothrock We're family-owned, safety-focused, growing, and built on doing things right.
