Job Description
Pre-Construction and Office Administrator at SLObispo Remodelers Pre-Construction and Office Administrator at SLObispo Remodelers in Arroyo Grande, California Posted in 1 day ago.
Type:
full-time We are hiring a Pre-Construction and Office Administrator to join our team in Grover Beach. SLObispo Remodelers is a licensed general contractor on California's Central Coast. We do remodels, additions, and new construction for homeowners across San Luis Obispo County. We have grown fast over the last few years and we intend to keep going. Our team is ambitious about the work and humble about ourselves. No big egos, people look out for each other, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. Why this role matters This is a new position and an important one. You will be the first voice most homeowners hear when they reach out to us, and you will help keep the office running behind the scenes. Client intake You will field calls from homeowners, understand what they are trying to accomplish, and explain how our process works, including our paid pre-construction feasibility studies. Most people who call us are early in their thinking. Your job is to give them a clear, informed conversation and help them land on the right next step, then get it scheduled. You will also follow up on open inquiries and outstanding proposals until there is a clear answer either way. Pre-construction and permitting Once a project is underway, you help get it approved. You will assist with permit applications as necessary, track every open permit, follow up with plan checkers to resolve corrections, and coordinate with architects and engineers to keep our pre-construction projects moving forward. Throughout, you are the person keeping the client informed about where their project stands and what comes next. This part of the job takes persistence. Permits do not move on their own, and a project can sit in a queue for weeks if nobody is watching. If you like being the person who unsticks things, there is plenty of that here. Office administration You will handle daily client communication, coordinate schedules for walkthroughs and site visits, keep our records and task boards current, and support the Administration Manager with the range of work that keeps an active construction business moving. This role does not include bookkeeping or invoicing. What we are looking for Construction industry experience strongly preferred, 3+ years ideal. When a homeowner calls about a failing deck or a kitchen gut, we want you to be able to speak in real construction terms, answer their questions accurately, and educate them where they need it. Most people calling us do not know what their project involves yet. Being the knowledgeable voice on the other end is what gives them confidence. Strong, demonstrable administrative skills and persistent follow-through Comfortable on the phone and at ease guiding a conversation toward a decision Real proficiency with Google Workspace Comfort learning and living in CRM and task management software Permitting or building department experience is a significant plus Client-facing or inside sales experience is a plus Estimating experience is a plus but not required What we offer Starting at $25 to $35 per hour depending on experience, paid sick leave, and a genuine path forward. We would rather promote from within than hire over the top of someone who already knows our clients and our process. You will report to our Administration Manager and work closely with our estimating, design, and project management team. Apply here on with your resume. We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible. SLObispo Remodelers LLC | CSLB License #1114943
