93 Salary Position Summary The Knowledge Management (KM) Manager is responsible for establishing and sustaining Eden Housing's organizational approach to knowledge management. This role serves as the central coordinator and enabler of Eden Housing's KM strategy — building the governance, standards, and support structures that allow knowledge to be created, maintained, and shared effectively across the organization. The KM Manager supports a distributed ownership model, working with subject matter experts, managers, and a cross-functional Knowledge Council to ensure that critical information is accurate, accessible, and trusted. The role balances strategic thinking with practical execution, focusing on sustainable practices that support day-to-day work while preparing Eden for responsible use of AI-enabled tools over time. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Coordination Serve as the primary owner of Eden Housing's Knowledge Management program and implementation roadmap. Translate the KM strategy into phased, practical actions aligned with organizational capacity and priorities. Coordinate sequencing and dependencies across KM-related initiatives, ensuring work is paced realistically. Act as a central point of contact for KM-related questions, decisions, and escalation. Governance & Standards Establish and support KM governance structures, including convening and facilitating the Knowledge Council. Develop, refine, and maintain content standards, templates, and guidance appropriate to different knowledge tiers (Tier 1-Tier 3). Clarify and reinforce expectations for content ownership, review, and lifecycle management. Ensure governance practices remain usable and supportive of real work, adjusting as needed based on feedback and experience. Distributed Knowledge Stewardship Support managers and designated Knowledge Stewards in understanding and carrying out stewardship responsibilities. Provide guidance, training, and job aids to help stewards maintain content efficiently and consistently. Help departments identify high-risk or high-value knowledge areas and prioritize stewardship effort accordingly. Encourage consistent practices without relying on heavy-handed enforcement. Institutional Knowledge & Content Quality Lead efforts to reduce redundancy, outdated content, and single points of knowledge dependency. Support the creation and maintenance of practical knowledge assets, including job aids, task documentation, playbooks, and reference materials. Promote clear distinctions between authoritative content and working or draft materials. Improve findability, clarity, and reuse of organizational knowledge over time. Platform & AI Enablement Work closely with the Technology Department and platform owners to align KM practices with SharePoint, Notion, and other core systems. Support the intentional use of AI assistants by ensuring underlying content is well-structured, current, and trustworthy. Help define appropriate scopes and guardrails for AI-assisted knowledge access. Monitor emerging capabilities and assess readiness without overcommitting to unproven tools or approaches. Change Management, Communication & Learning Develop clear communication and training approaches to support KM adoption across the organization. Partner with Talent Development and managers to embed KM practices into onboarding, role transitions, and everyday workflows. Gather feedback from staff and leaders to continuously improve KM practices. Help normalize KM as "how work gets done," rather than a separate initiative. Qualifications Qualifications & Experience Required or strongly preferred Eight or more years of experience leading or supporting knowledge management, information management, content strategy, or related organizational initiatives. Demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders, influence without direct authority, resolve competing priorities, and drive sustained behavior change across diverse roles and departments. Demonstrated ability to work across departments and roles in a collaborative, matrixed environment. Strong facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to translate abstract concepts into practical guidance.

Reporting & Scope Reports to Director of Strategic Initiatives Works closely with: Technology Department, Talent Development, K nowledge Stewards, and the Knowledge Council. This role is the founding member of our new KM team; the KM team is expected to remain intentionally small and focused, with additional specialist support added over time only as needed. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
