Job Description

Small Law Firm | Colorado Springs, Colorado Full-Time, Primarily In-Office $30-$37/hour, depending on experience and qualifications We are a four-attorney law firm seeking an exceptional Legal Assistant & Office Manager to become a central member of our small, professional office. This is not simply a receptionist or clerical position. We are looking for someone who is highly capable, organized, personable, resourceful, and comfortable taking responsibility for keeping a busy professional office running smoothly. The position combines client service, scheduling, office management, attorney support, and—depending on the candidate's experience and interests—higher-level legal and paralegal work. What You Will Do Responsibilities include: Managing phone and email communications; Coordinating attorney calendars, client appointments, meetings, and conference rooms; Communicating professionally with clients, attorneys, courts and other professionals; Assisting attorneys with correspondence, documents, file organization, deadlines, and other legal-support work; Greeting clients and helping them feel comfortable and well cared for; Handling day-to-day office operations, supplies, vendors, mail, and administrative issues; Helping ensure that important matters and deadlines do not fall through the cracks; and Taking ownership of the miscellaneous problems and priorities that arise in a small law office. Some attorneys require more hands-on administrative and legal support than the others, so an important part of the position involves learning their practices, work styles, and priorities. Who We Are Looking For The qualities we value most are intelligence, judgment, initiative, organization, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills .
Our ideal candidate:
Learns quickly and enjoys mastering new responsibilities; Communicates well with many different kinds of people; Is highly organized and attentive to detail; Exercises good judgment and discretion; Is technologically proficient and can trouble shoot and manage issues related to firm systems; Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told about every task; Can prioritize competing requests and recognize what needs attention; Is comfortable working independently while knowing when to ask questions; and Wants to become an important and trusted part of a small professional team. Prior law-firm, legal assistant, paralegal, executive assistant, or office-management experience is welcome, but it is not required . We are very willing to consider an exceptionally capable person who has limited or no legal experience but has demonstrated intelligence, motivation, maturity, strong organizational skills, and an ability to learn quickly. The right person can learn the legal and procedural aspects of the position; judgment, initiative, curiosity, and a strong work ethic are more important to us than having followed a particular career path. Compensation and Benefits Compensation is $30-$37 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid vacation, generous paid holidays, paid sick leave, and participation in the firm's 401(k) plan with an employer contribution for eligible employees. The firm does not currently provide health insurance . How to Apply Please submit a resume together with a brief cover letter or email to angie@k2blaw.com , telling us about your background and why this position interests you. We are unable to reply to each submittal; please do not expect a reply unless we have further questions. If your background is outside the legal field, we especially encourage you to explain situations in which you were trusted with significant responsibility, learned a complex job quickly, solved problems independently, or became the person others relied upon to keep things organized and moving. Please apply by 10/21/2026 . Thank you.
