Family Office Principal About the business Rushkap Family Limited Partnership is an inter-generational real estate holding company and investment office. We steward a well-managed portfolio of rental property in Northern Connecticut, providing safe, clean, compliant housing to our renters and adding value to the community. About the Role We are seeking a highly organized, financially minded Family Office Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of a privately held portfolio of rental properties. The primary focus of this role is property operations, tenant relationships and acquisition, contractor management, maintenance, interfacing with legal and accounting professionals, and ongoing improvement of portfolio performance. The role also provides administrative support to the broader family office as needed such as probate paperwork and tax filing deadlines. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who understands real estate, takes ownership of challenges, communicates and negotiates effectively, and is comfortable working independently. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day management of a portfolio of residential properties. Manage tenant relationships, including marketing, leasing, renewals, rent collections, communications, record keeping, and resolution of tenant issues. Track rent collections, delinquencies, property expenses, and on property management software. Source, evaluate, and manage contractors and tenant relationships. Coordinate property maintenance, repairs, inspections, and improvement projects. Obtain and negotiate vendor proposals and service contracts. Monitor property conditions and identify opportunities to improve tenant satisfaction and property performance. Coordinate with legal, tax, insurance, accounting, and other professional advisors as necessary. Ensure properties and communications are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, leases, and safety requirements. Maintain accurate financial and operational records for the family office as well as a calendar of annual statutory deadlines. Evaluate opportunities to increase rental income, reduce operating expenses, and improve property-level profitability or overall efficiency. Work with the principal on ad hoc projects to support family office goals. Maintain confidentiality regarding family, financial, investment, and business matters. Qualifications
• A working knowledge of real estate property management, bookkeeping, legal, construction, and family office operations. Experience managing tenants, contractors, vendors, and outside professionals. Experience managing renovation projects and inspecting the work for quality control. The ability to think creatively and problem-solve to control costs. A leader who is unafraid to take initiative. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, real estate, business, or a related field. Experience managing residential and/or commercial real estate. Experience negotiating leases, vendor agreements, or other contracts. Real estate license or professional designation is a plus. Familiarity with estate plans, trusts, and business structures
