Job Description

Home Health Works is looking for a Business Manager to lead the day-to-day operations, HR function, and growth strategy of our home care agency. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants real ownership over outcomes — not a back-office administrator and not a commission-based sales rep. You'll run the business side of the agency: keeping the office humming, growing our private pay and VA Community Care Network census through referral relationships, leading HR from recruiting through retention, keeping us compliant and audit-ready, and spearheading the launch of our new skilled nursing service line.
What You'll Do Operations:
Oversee daily office operations, staff, vendors, and business systems; support billing, AP/AR, and payroll coordination; keep records audit-ready.
Business Development:
Build and own referral relationships with hospitals, physician practices, facilities, and case managers to grow private pay and VA census; track and report pipeline results to ownership.
Skilled Nursing Launch:
Lead activation of our skilled nursing license — licensure, staffing, workflows, billing, and referral demand — from planning to go-live.
Human Resources:
Own recruiting, onboarding, and retention for field and administrative staff; maintain compliant personnel files; manage benefits, employee relations, and policy enforcement.
Compliance:
Serve as operational compliance lead for AHCA licensure, HIPAA, VA/AAA contract requirements, and employment law.
Financial Oversight:
Partner with ownership on budgeting and reporting; monitor KPIs like census, revenue, payroll ratio, and turnover; support accurate billing and collections. What You Bring High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. 3-5+ years in business management, office administration, or healthcare operations, including supervisory or HR experience. Home care, home health, or other healthcare setting experience required. Track record building referral relationships, growing census, or launching a new service line (skilled nursing experience a strong plus). Familiarity with AHCA, HIPAA, and VA/AAA contract compliance preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems (scheduling, EHR, QuickBooks or similar). Must pass a Level 2 background screening. Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off (PTO)
Details Schedule:
Full-time, 40+ hrs/week, generally 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, with occasional extra hours as needed.
Location:
Office-based in Clearwater, FL, with regular local travel throughout Pinellas and Pasco counties for partner visits and community events. 3lH8rvb4hq
