Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Business Office Manager to lead our long-term care facility's administrative and financial operations. In this vital role, you will oversee fiscal management, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and supervise staff to deliver exceptional patient-centered service. Your leadership will help foster a smooth-running practice that prioritizes quality care and operational excellence.
Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of your position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Office Department in the region you have been assigned to in accordance with current Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator or the Regional Business Office Manager, Regional Director of Operations Revenue Cycle Director and/or VP of Finance. The Business Office Manager oversees and supports the business office operations of the skilled nursing facility (SNFs) / nursing home. This role ensures accurate and timely resident billing across all payer sources (Medicare, MassHealth/Medicaid, Managed Care, private pay, and hospice), optimizes revenue cycle performance, maintains regulatory compliance with federal and Massachusetts state requirements, and drives consistent, high-performing business office workflows. The BOM is responsible for ensuring the needs of the role are carried consistently especially in regards to; best practices, operational excellence, and strong cash collections.
Scope of Responsibility:
You are responsible and accountable for carrying out your assigned duties and you report directly to the Administrator and/or the Regional Business Office Manager, Regional Director of Operations Revenue Cycle Director and VP of Finance.

Experience Proven experience in Long-Term Care (Skilled Nursing Home) business office management. Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams in a healthcare setting such as long-term care facilities. Extensive knowledge of medical billing, coding (Medical terminology), and revenue cycle processes. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like PCC is essential. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance, JCAHO standards, and managed care policies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office . Excellent managerial communication skills coupled with customer service expertise to support facility team and patient satisfaction.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience:
1-3+ years of progressive business office or revenue cycle experience in skilled nursing facilities / long-term care, preferred. Working knowledge of Medicare, MassHealth (Medicaid), Managed Care billing, collections, and regulatory requirements specific to
Massachusetts SNFs Specific Requirements:
Demonstrated experience interpreting AR aging reports, driving collections results, and managing multi-payer billing. Proficiency with long-term care EHR/billing systems (e.g., PointClickCare/PCC, MatrixCare, or similar) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Revenue cycle optimization and attention to detail. Multi-site leadership and staff development. Regulatory compliance (federal + Massachusetts). Analytical problem-solving and data-driven decision making. Strong interpersonal skills with residents, families, staff, and leadership. Adaptability and results orientation in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred:
Experience with MassHealth applications, pending cases, and redeterminations. Familiarity with resident trust accounting and Massachusetts-specific compliance requirements.
