Responsibilities Manage all aspects of medical billing processes related to physical therapy services, ensuring accurate coding, timely submission, and follow-up on claims. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the billing office, including supervising staff, scheduling, and workflow management to optimize productivity. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as
HIPAA, JCAHO
standards, and health regulation policies while maintaining patient confidentiality and data security. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Athenahealth to manage patient records, billing information, and financial data efficiently. Coordinate with clinical staff to streamline patient management software use and improve overall clinic operations. Develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement fiscal strategies to support sustainable practice growth. Lead human resources functions including staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive team environment focused on excellent customer service. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office management with a focus on physical therapy Strong background in medical billing, coding (medical terminology), and healthcare practice management systems such as Athena or Epic. Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams within a healthcare setting; excellent managerial communication skills are essential. Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and administrative tasks. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records and patient information securely. Ability to handle fiscal responsibilities such as budgeting, financial management, managed care negotiations, and utilization management. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and billing accuracy.
