East Nottingham Township, Chester County Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer and Planning Administrator Full-Time Job Description Skill set required
  • Proficiency in Windows 360, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficient multi-tasker.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and customer service skills. The Township is willing to provide on-the-job training for the right candidate who demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with the public Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer Duties
  • Administer and enforce all provisions of the East Nottingham Township Zoning Ordinance and other standalone alone ordinances as necessary
  • Fulfill duties and responsibilities as the appointed Floodplain Administrator
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, both telephonically and in person, regarding municipal regulations, zoning requirements, permit applications, and land development processes
  • Review and approve zoning permits
  • Collect stormwater applications and coordinate the engineering review and processing.
  • Collect, review, track, and release all permits. Issue denial letters if appropriate.
  • Accept, investigate, and respond to residents' complaints.
  • Complete field inspections.
  • Attend all public meetings of the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, and others as needed
  • Complete and distribute end of month reports to Board of Supervisors, Chester County, and US Census.
  • Maintain tax parcel records - scanning and electronic filing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside agencies. Planning Administrator
  • Accept new, review, and coordinate all aspects of subdivision and land development process.
  • Maintain paper and electronic files.
  • Coordinate with Engineer and Solicitor
  • Maintain Chart of Extensions and request extensions as necessary
  • Prepare paperwork for sewage facilities planning modules
  • Solicit comments and recommendations from appropriate state, county, and Township agencies and professionals regarding subdivision and land development plans.
  • Prepare draft agenda and distribute it to Planning Commisssion members.
  • Prepare information packets for all members for meeting use and distribute information electronically prior to the meeting
  • Prepare meeting room for Planning Commission meetings. MS4 Coordinator
  • Manages and implementation of the Township's
NPDES MS4
permit program
  • Maintains organized records to document and track compliance with all MS4 requirements
  • Coordinates with stormwater consultant to ensure outfall and basin inspection are completed
  • Reviews Minimum Control Measures (MCMs) annually and ensures compliance to the Township's plans and modifies plans when appropriate.
  • Coordinates with landowners to ensure regular maintenance is completed on stormwater basins
  • Takes complaints and questions regarding MS4 issues and concerns
  • Provides education material related to MS4 for the Township website and newsletters.
  • Plan and lead public education and involvement opportunities.
  • Assists MS4 engineer with annual DEP report and PRP requirements and implementation.
  • Works with other MS4 consultants and agencies as needed. Benefits
