Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Legal Assistant / Office Manager to join our team. This position combines legal administrative support with responsibility for helping manage the day-to-day operations of a busy law office. The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, communicates well with clients and coworkers, pays close attention to detail, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities. Prior legal office experience is preferred, particularly experience in family law, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong administrative or office-management experience.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Communicating professionally with clients, attorneys, court staff, and other professionals; Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars; Preparing, formatting, filing, and organizing legal documents and correspondence; Maintaining client files and monitoring deadlines; Assisting attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks; Managing incoming and outgoing mail, email, and documents; Assisting with billing, payments, and other basic financial or bookkeeping functions; Coordinating office supplies, vendors, and general office needs; Helping develop and maintain efficient office procedures and workflows; Providing oversight and coordination of day-to-day office operations; and Performing other legal assistant and office-management duties as needed. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Is highly organized and detail-oriented; Has excellent written and verbal communication skills; Is professional and comfortable communicating with clients who may be experiencing stressful situations; Can work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through on assignments; Maintains strict confidentiality; Is comfortable using technology and learning new software; Works well as part of a small team; and Has prior legal assistant, paralegal, administrative, or office-management experience. Experience with family law, court filing systems, legal practice-management software, or law-office billing is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Compensation is $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. The specific compensation package will be based on the candidate's experience and the responsibilities they are prepared to assume.
