We are seeking a motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and composed professional to join our growing team as a Hospice Business Office Manager. This position plays a critical role in the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of the hospice agency and serves as the primary biller responsible for accurate and timely hospice billing and accounts receivable management. The ideal candidate is dependable, highly organized, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Review patient records, authorizations, census information, and supporting documentation to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with payer requirements. Monitor outstanding claims and accounts receivable, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and assist with resolving billing discrepancies and payment issues. Ensure required documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within established timelines. Submit bills to appropriate payer sources. Identify billing issues or documentation deficiencies and communicate them promptly to the appropriate clinical or administrative staff. Support the overall administrative operations of the hospice agency and perform other duties as assigned. Act as Receptionist for the office, answering inquiries of general nature form applicants, visitors, and professional staff, assisting them in a friendly and cooperative manner. Assist in miscellaneous bookkeeping functions. Tracks admission, discharge, certification and recertification dates on all patients. Assists with audits. Assume various duties as directed by the Administration in the area of personnel and accounting.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience with hospice billing and accounts receivable, preferably with Medicare and Medicaid. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. The ability to review documentation and identify discrepancies or missing information. Strong communication and customer-service skills. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical and administrative teams. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Professionalism, dependability, and the ability to remain calm and composed when addressing sensitive or challenging situations. Experience with healthcare billing software and electronic medical record systems is preferred.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
