Job Description

Alaska Public Risk Alliance (APRA) is a Joint Insurance Arrangement that provides workers' compensation, liability, and property coverage, and risk management services to public entities around Alaska. We are seeking an administrative assistant to join our team and provide support to all departments in the organization. We welcome applicants of varying levels of experience and are willing to provide training and education for opportunities to advance within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete general administrative tasks, including greeting visitors, processing mail and faxes, maintaining the automated phone system, and maintaining the common areas of the office. Serve as a flexible resource to all departments, assisting with a wide range of administrative and operational needs. Assist with Board and committee meeting planning and preparation; record Board minutes. Coordinate the annual membership meeting, member/broker meetings, and other related meetings including reserving meeting locations, audio & video, and catering when applicable. Assist Claims and Underwriting departments with documentation, reporting, and member communications. Assist Marketing and Communications Coordinator with activities associated with APRA marketing efforts, including maintaining an inventory of marketing materials and coordinating purchases from Anchorage vendors. Assist the Risk Services with various projects, including planning, preparation and delivery of annual risk services events. Provide administrative assistance and support to the Accounting Department Collaborate with staff on special projects and organizational initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
This is an entry level position and we will provide training as needed.
Skills:
Team-oriented with a proactive and flexible approach. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Access, Illustrator, and modern office technology is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
