Job Description
For a lot of our residents and applicants, you'll be the first voice they hear and the first face they see. This role is about making people feel welcomed and taken care of the moment they walk through the door or pick up the phone — while keeping the paperwork, waitlists, and filing running smoothly behind the scenes. If you're personable, organized, comfortable juggling a busy front desk, and want a job where being kind to people is part of the job description, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do Greet residents, applicants, and visitors and answer the Housing office phone line Explain the basics — buildings, unit types, rent ranges, age requirements, and how the waitlist works Help applicants complete forms and paperwork, and route completed applications to the right staff Log and track applications, waitlist records, and resident files Handle filing, mail, copying, and general office administration Check lock boxes for rent payments and work orders, log and receipt them, and turn funds over promptly Flag maintenance emergencies, welfare concerns, or resident complaints to the Housing Manager right away What You'll Need High school diploma or equivalent Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to pass an Alaska Background Check and pre-employment drug screening (including cannabis) Good judgment about what to handle yourself and what to bring to the Housing Manager Bonus points: front desk or customer service experience, a valid AK driver's license, or experience in housing/property management Why You'll Love Working Here You're the reason the desk is covered and residents feel looked after A steady, people-focused role — every day brings new faces and new questions Supportive Housing team just behind you when you need backup Serve your own community, right here in the Mat-Su Valley How to Apply Follow Apply link on this post.
