Job Description
Description We are looking for an Title Clerk to support a project within the mortgage industry. This role is ideal for someone with title and escrow experience who can manage reconciliation-focused work with accuracy, sound judgment, and strong follow-through. The position requires someone who can investigate discrepancies, coordinate refund-related activity, and keep tasks moving in a fast-paced administrative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review reconciliation items and research outstanding balances, discrepancies, and refund-related issues.
- Communicate with title and escrow contacts to obtain needed refunds and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and submit internal refund requests when external recovery is not completed within required timelines.
- Maintain organized records of reconciliation activity, correspondence, and resolution status for each case.
- Support escrow and administrative workflows by updating files, tracking open items, and following up on pending actions.
- Analyze account details carefully to identify errors, missing information, or next steps needed for resolution.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure refund processing and reconciliation tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- 3+ years of experience in escrow, title, or related mortgage administration work.
- Background in escrow processing and title-related transactions.
- Ability to perform detailed reconciliation work with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Experience handling loan administration or closely related real estate documentation.
- Organized approach to managing multiple files, deadlines, and follow-up activities.
- Proficiency in clear written and verbal communication with internal and external contacts.
