BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor or department administrator, provide clerical and administrative support to various Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE) departments and programs. Assignments may vary depending on departmental needs and may include general office support, customer service, data entry, record keeping, scheduling, correspondence, filing, and other clerical or administrative duties.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Assignments may include, but are not limited to: Provide general clerical and administrative support to assigned department or program. Answer telephones, greet visitors, respond to inquiries, and provide information with courtesy and professionalism. Organize and maintain files, records, databases, and other departmental information. Enter, update, retrieve, and maintain data using computer systems and applicable software. Prepare, format, edit, and distribute correspondence, forms, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents. Schedule meetings, appointments, and other activities; assist with meeting preparation and follow-up. Review documents and information for completeness and accuracy. Assist with compiling information, preparing reports, and maintaining records. Sort, distribute, and process mail, correspondence, and other materials. Communicate and coordinate with VCOE staff, school districts, educational institutions, vendors, and members of the public as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records. Operate standard office equipment and utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and other applicable technology. Provide customer service and assistance to staff, students, families, and community members as appropriate to the assignment. Perform related clerical and administrative duties as assigned. Assignments may range from general office support to more specialized clerical or administrative responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Pay is dependent on the assignment, not experience.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or equivalent; and general knowledge of computer operations and commonly used office software applications; and experience providing customer service
Pay:
$27.93 - $41.26 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
