Position Summary This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. The Administrative Assistant I performs a broad range of secretarial functions necessary to support the Director/Managers of the Heart Institute. This position is responsible for supporting the unit environment to maintain smooth functioning. Under the direction of the manager, performs in the capacity of a liaison to manager for functions relating to the accurate maintenance, processing, and collection of confidential employee/patient related records and documents. These duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: MTM data entry, confidential monthly management/operation reports, employee competency records, licensure and educational tracking. The Administrative Assistant will provide assistance with general clerical support functions including meeting planning, ordering supplies, filing, organizing and miscellaneous other clerical functions. Positive interpersonal skills, Microsoft office skills, and phone etiquette are essential for this position. This position interacts with Human Resource, management, employees, medical staff, patients, families and vendors. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job Individual and Unit Preparation for Magnet Meets population specific competencies Demonstrates the ability to facilitate smooth and efficient unit operations Performs assigned projects, clerical responsibilities, and other duties as assigned Maintains accurate record and statistics per department and regulatory standards Demonstrates the ability to safely and completely use equipment Possesses knowledge of job specific competencies Other duties as assigned Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of advanced clerical and/or secretarial experience required. Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred
Education/Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalency preferred
