Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures. Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow. Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and professionalism. Maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Athenahealth to ensure accurate documentation review and data entry. Assist with medical documentation review, ensuring compliance with HIPAA policies and clinical confidentiality standards. Support medical office operations by managing phone communication with professionalism, answering inquiries, and directing calls appropriately. Organize medical records filing, perform 10-key typing tasks, and handle administrative clerical duties to keep the front office running smoothly. Skills Proven experience in medical office administrative support within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, Medicare guidelines, and medical billing procedures. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Excellent computer skills; ability to perform typing tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare terminology to ensure compliance and accuracy in all documentation. Exceptional customer service skills combined with phone etiquette expertise to create a positive patient experience. Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail; previous clerical or office experience is advantageous.
