Altura Care LLC is growing our team and is currently hiring Personal Assistants, Life Skills Coaches, and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the Coachella Valley. We're looking for people who are dependable, compassionate, proactive, and ready to help individuals participate in their communities and live as independently as possible. This isn't a job where every day looks exactly the same. Depending on your client assignment, you may help someone attend a community activity, prepare a healthy meal, practice independent living skills, exercise, volunteer, attend an appointment, work toward a personal goal, or simply navigate their day successfully. What You May Do Depending on the client and position, responsibilities may include: Supporting community participation and recreational activities Teaching or reinforcing independent living and life skills Supporting communication and social skills Assisting with healthy routines, meal preparation, exercise, and personal goals Providing transportation to authorized activities or appointments when required by the assignment Helping clients safely navigate community environments Following individualized support and safety plans Communicating important information with families and Altura Care Completing required service documentation accurately and on time Providing appropriate personal or physical assistance when required by the individual client assignment Schedule We are currently hiring for multiple part-time client assignments throughout the Coachella Valley. Available schedules vary and may include: Weekdays Daytime hours Some evening hours Saturdays There is no single set schedule for this posting. During the hiring process, we'll review your actual availability, experience, and skills to determine which available client assignment may be the best match. Consistent availability and reliability are essential because the individuals we support depend on their scheduled staff. Pay $21.00-$23.00 per hour Starting pay is based on the position, relevant qualifications and experience, and the requirements of the client assignment. Mileage reimbursement is provided for authorized work-related travel in accordance with company policy and applicable California law. Requirements Requirements may vary by position and client assignment and may include: Valid driver's license Ability to reliably travel to assigned clients and work locations Current vehicle insurance and registration when driving is required for the assignment Current CPR/First Aid certification Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the assigned position, with or without reasonable accommodation Successful completion of required onboarding and client-specific training Selected candidates must be willing to complete Live Scan fingerprinting for a background check through the California Department of Justice and FBI as part of the applicable hiring process. This is a community-based position where client activities and schedules may occasionally change. Are you comfortable with some schedule flexibility while maintaining the days and hours you have committed to work? Some assignments require transporting clients to community activities and appointments using your personal vehicle. Do you have a valid driver's license and are you willing and able to transport clients when required for your assigned position? Do you have experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism, nonverbal individuals, caregiving, CNA work, behavioral support, or a related field? Are you comfortable supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities whose needs may include nonverbal communication, assistance with daily living skills, behavioral support, or physical assistance depending on the client assignment? If selected for a position, are you willing to complete required Live Scan fingerprinting for a California DOJ/FBI background check as part of the applicable hiring process?
