Part-Time About Us Southern California Medical Center (SCMC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare services to our community. We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Part-Time Front Office Assistant to join our Pico Rivera clinic team. Job Summary The Front Office Assistant will support daily clinic operations by providing excellent customer service to patients, assisting with front desk duties, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment. A Medical Assistant certificate is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates who have strong customer service skills and an interest in growing within the healthcare field. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner Check patients in and out for appointments Verify patient demographic and insurance information Schedule and confirm patient appointments Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries Collect and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Collect copayments and assist with front office administrative tasks Coordinate with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow Assist with medical records requests and other clerical duties as needed Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and clinic staff
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy clinic environment Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic health record systems Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred:
Medical Assistant certificate Previous healthcare or front office experience Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred Experience working in a community health center or medical office setting Schedule Part-Time position Schedule will be discussed during the interview process Must be available to support clinic operational hours Apply today to join our team and make a difference in the communities we serve!
