Job Description
About the Position We are seeking a dependable, proactive, and highly organized Personal Assistant / House Manager to support the daily operations of a busy household. This is a long-term position for someone who enjoys creating systems, staying organized, helping children thrive, and taking initiative to keep a home running efficiently. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and enjoys balancing childcare, household management, errands, and personal assistant responsibilities. ResponsibilitiesChildcare & Family Support Arrive by 2:45 PM each day. Use the family vehicle for 3:00 PM school pickups. Safely transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities. Supervise children after school. Assist with homework, reading, flashcards, and school assignments. Encourage children to complete daily responsibilities and routines. Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities at home. Provide childcare when the parent is working or away. Household Management Maintain an organized, tidy, and functional home. Organize children's bedrooms, closets, toys, office/play areas, garage storage, and outdoor play spaces. Fold and organize towels, sheets, blankets, and household linens. Help create and maintain systems that improve the overall flow of the household. Ensure children's rooms and shared spaces remain clean and organized. Monitor household inventory and identify items that need replenishing. Meal Planning & Kitchen Support Collaborate on weekly meal planning. Prepare school lunches. Assist with light meal preparation. Create weekly menus. Organize pantry, refrigerator, and snack stations. Develop systems that simplify lunches and after-school snacks. Complete grocery shopping and grocery pickup/orders. Personal Assistant Duties Run errands, including returns, shopping, and pickups. Coordinate appointments and communicate with children's activity providers (gymnastics, football, basketball, etc.). Schedule services and assist with household logistics. Track household to-do lists and help prioritize projects. Take the family vehicle for routine washes and maintenance appointments. Help plan family travel, including packing and unpacking. Assist with miscellaneous administrative and household projects as needed. Pet Care Walk and feed the family dog. Schedule and transport the dog for grooming appointments. Help ensure the dog's daily needs are consistently met. Qualifications The ideal candidate will be: Highly organized and detail-oriented. Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs before being asked. Professional, trustworthy, and dependable. Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the family. Excellent at multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities. Positive, energetic, and patient with children. Looking for a long-term role. Seeking someone local. Requirements Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, House Manager, Family Assistant, Household Manager, or Professional Nanny preferred. Valid California driver's license. Excellent driving record. Comfortable driving children using the family vehicle. Must submit a current DMV driving record. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check before employment. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Comfortable around dogs. Authorized to work in the United States.
