Part-Time Non-Exempt Temporary (October 5th- return of incumbent) Job Description The role of the Temporary Office Coordinator is to serve as the initial point of contact for members, guests, and visitors to Ventura Missionary Church (VMC). The Temporary Office Coordinator is integral to public understanding of VMC's hospitality and community support. The Office Coordinator is responsible for greeting and assisting visitors and the church family.
Primary Responsibilities:
This is a working list and may be adjusted at any time by the supervisor: Greet and assist people during VMC business hours Answer, support, and direct incoming phone calls Provide workroom support for ministries Perform administrative support duties Assist in benevolence support Oversee VMC postal functions Oversee the calendar and data management in the VMC HUB Order VMC supplies for the workroom, staff breakroom, and Sunday morning Cafe. Provide administrative support to requesting ministries as directed by the Operations Director Ensure that room set-up, technical and security support are approved by specific departments Notify staff via PA system of safety drills Coordinate Memorials Help coordinate volunteer background checks in compliance with AB506 Help coordinate staff parties and meals Coordinate and Communicate staff birthday acknowledgements and celebrations Coordinate and order meals for other ministries upon request Help coordinate and facilitate Human Resources related training Help onboard new hires Oversee the onboarding process of new members, deacons, and deaconesses Relationships This position will report directly to the Operations Director and work alongside Ventura Missionary Church's administrative staff, Ventura Missionary School Deans, ministry directors, and other boards as necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities § Have a personal relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior, believe that the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living, and be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions towards others. § Be committed to God's Biblical standards for sexual conduct. § Be or be willing to become a member of Ventura Missionary Church and agree with the Church's Statement of Faith. § One year of administrative experience (preferred) § Strong attention to detail § Strong work ethic § Problem-solving and conflict-resolution techniques § Operate in a team environment, often working cross-functionally with other teams Minimum Job Qualifications § Successful Completion of the fingerprinting process for criminal background clearance. § The Office Coordinator needs to agree with Ventura Missionary Church's Statement of Faith and agree to employment subject to and conditioned upon a lifestyle consistent with that Statement of Faith. § This position must have a philosophy of ministry that is aligned with Scripture, with our Statement of Faith, and with our Core Values and Vision. § Gifts that are consistent with this role are administrative, serving, hospitality, and organization. Selection Process The Human Resources Director and Operations Director will supervise the selection process for this position, in collaboration with Leadership. Compensation The compensation for this position, which is classified as Office Coordinator I on the VMC Compensation Bracket, will be $17.51-18.00 per hour, taking into consideration experience and education. Hours Monday through Thursday; 9:00 am - 3:30 pm; 20-24 hours per week. This position is a temporary assignment from October 5, 2026 - return of incumbent.
