Family & Household Assistant Simsbury, ConnecticutPart Time | Approximately 20-30 Hours Per Week Starting at $20 per hour Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Family & Household Assistant to support the day to day operations of a private residence in Simsbury, Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping a home organized, running errands, caring for pets, and helping take everyday responsibilities off someone else's plate. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, notices what needs to be done, and takes pride in creating a clean, organized, and comfortable home environment. There are currently no children in the household. The primary focus of this position will be household upkeep, laundry, organization, errands, pet care, and general personal assistance. Duties Complete laundry including washing, drying, folding, hanging, putting clothing away, and changing bedding as needed Perform general household cleaning and tidying throughout bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, common areas, and other living spaces Organize closets, pantry areas, cabinets, drawers, storage areas, and other household spaces Complete returns and exchanges at local stores and assist with online returns when needed Grocery shop and pick up household supplies, prescriptions, medications, dry cleaning, packages, and other necessities Complete miscellaneous errands throughout the Simsbury and surrounding area Assist with keeping household products, groceries, pet supplies, and everyday necessities organized and stocked Provide general pet care including dog walking, feeding, letting dogs outside, and maintaining pet areas Transport pets to and from veterinary, grooming, or other appointments when needed Assist with scheduling and coordinating household appointments, service providers, deliveries, and other personal commitments Accompany or assist with occasional doctor appointments or personal errands when needed Help prepare and organize the home before and after guests, gatherings, or special occasions Assist with light household projects and seasonal organization Coordinate with service providers or contractors when necessary Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding the household and personal matters Keep track of outstanding household tasks and help ensure responsibilities are completed in a timely manner Provide additional household and personal assistance as needs arise Qualifications Previous experience in household assistance, personal assistance, housekeeping, organizing, hospitality, pet care, or a similar role is preferred Highly organized with strong attention to detail Dependable, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently Proactive personality with the ability to recognize what needs to be done without constant direction Comfortable completing a variety of tasks and adjusting priorities throughout the day Comfortable with dogs and providing routine pet care Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record Comfortable running local errands and traveling to appointments throughout the surrounding area Able to perform physical household tasks including carrying laundry baskets, groceries, packages, and moving light household items Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities Professional, respectful, and discreet when handling personal or confidential information Positive attitude and willingness to become a trusted, consistent part of the household We are looking for someone who truly enjoys helping others and creating an organized, welcoming home.
