Job Description
De Wit Immigration Law is a boutique business-immigration firm in Miami Shores, and we are hiring a bilingual Administrative Assistant to work in our office. This is the person who gets our case filings out the door. Every petition this firm sends to the government passes through your hands before the attorney signs it. You print it, assemble it, check it against our filing checklist, scan it into the client file, and send it out by FedEx. You collect the mail each day, scan the notices the agencies send back, and file them where they belong, both in Google Drive and in the paper client file. That work is most of the job, and it is hands-on. It is also the reason our filings arrive complete and on time, which is the part clients never see and always feel. This is not a front-desk position. Our intake team handles client calls remotely, so you would greet the occasional visitor rather than work a phone.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO
- Print and assemble case filings, and check each one against our filing checklist before it goes to the attorney for signature.
- Scan completed filings into the client file and send them out by FedEx.
- Collect the daily mail, scan agency correspondence, and file it in Google Drive and in the physical client file.
- Keep the office running: supplies, vendors, and the occasional errand.
- Greet visitors to the office and help our remote intake team with overflow when needed.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You are fully fluent in English and Spanish, spoken and written. This is required.
- You are careful and accurate, and you can follow a written checklist exactly. What leaves this office goes to the government, so the details matter.
- You are reliable and punctual. The day's mail and filing deadlines depend on someone being here.
- You are comfortable with hands-on work and with learning new software.
- Office experience helps, but we do not require it, and we do not require a degree.
SCHEDULE AND PAY
$20 to $25 an hour, in person at our Miami Shores office. We have both full-time and part-time schedules available, and part-time suits this role well. We will settle on a schedule that works for both of us and then keep it steady.BENEFITS
Health insurance, with the firm paying up to 99% of the employee premium on our benchmark plan. Vision coverage. A 401(k) with an employer match. 15 days of paid time off a year, prorated for part-time, plus 10 paid holidays and a paid day off on your birthday.ABOUT US
