PERSONAL INJURY LEGAL ASSISTANT / CASE MANAGER ASSISTANT

We are an established Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law Firm in Plantation, Florida , and we are looking for a motivated Legal Assistant / Assistant Case Manager who understands the personal injury process and can help keep cases moving. This is not a basic receptionist or filing position. You will be part of the team responsible for helping manage real personal injury cases from the time a client walks through the door until the case is resolved and the closing statement is completed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will work closely with our attorneys and case managers and assist with the day-to-day handling of personal injury files, including: Review client intake and opened files Communicating with clients regarding treatment, appointments, insurance, and case status Requesting and following up on medical records and medical bills Reviewing medical records and bills for completeness Tracking client treatment and outstanding records Communicating with insurance companies and medical providers Assisting with preparation of demand packages / settlement brochures Assisting with property damage claims when applicable Assisting case managers with negotiations and settlement preparation Obtaining lien information Assisting with medical bill reductions Preparing information needed for closing statements Making sure files are properly documented and ready for attorney review Keeping cases organized and moving forward Communicating professionally and compassionately with injured clients
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO
Already understands personal injury. You don't need to know everything on Day One, but you should understand the basic life cycle of a PI case and know the difference between a client who needs a medical appointment followed up on, insurance limits, MRI reports, photographs. a file that needs records, and a case that is approaching settlement.

THIS POSITION IS NOT FOR YOU IF
You need to be reminded to follow up on everything. You are uncomfortable speaking with clients. You have never worked around personal injury cases and are looking for a completely unrelated entry-level legal position. You don't like keeping track of details. You wait for someone else to notice that something needs to be done.
