Part-Time Position Overview The Late Stay Office Assistant helps keep our afternoon program running smoothly and safely. This position is primarily responsible for managing the front office during Late Stay, assisting with light cleaning and organization, and ensuring children are released only to authorized adults. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable communicating with families, and able to remain calm and professional when handling minor accidents or incidents. Responsibilities Greet parents and authorized pickup persons as they arrive. Check identification when necessary and verify that children are released only to individuals authorized for pickup. Communicate with Late Stay staff when families arrive for pickup. Help maintain a clean and organized school environment through light cleaning and end-of-day tasks. Complete routine closing and organization tasks as assigned. Contact parents or guardians when needed following an accident, injury, or other incident involving their child. Gather accurate information from staff and complete accident or incident reports. Communicate with families in a calm, clear, and professional manner. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and school matters. Notify administration of any safety concerns, unusual situations, or incidents requiring additional follow-up. Provide general support to the Late Stay team as needed. Qualifications Must be able to successfully complete and pass all required background checks prior to employment. Dependable and punctual, with consistent availability from 2:00-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday . Comfortable interacting with children, families, and staff. Able to communicate clearly by phone and in person. Able to write clear, factual accident and incident reports. Detail-oriented, particularly when verifying identification and authorized pickup information. Willing and able to complete light cleaning and organizational tasks. Able to handle confidential information appropriately. Previous experience in a school, childcare, office, or customer-service setting is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements This position requires regular walking and standing, moving throughout the school as needed, and performing light cleaning and organizational tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry supplies and other reasonably weighted items associated with normal school operations.
Pay:
