Job Description

This position performs administrative duties in support of department operations. Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; refers to appropriate personnel; takes messages. Assists in the registration of program participants and in maintaining sports team rosters. Schedules and plans community events. Maintains office supplies; reorders as needed. Prepares fliers and promotional literature. Maintains program files and records. Prepares a variety of letters and correspondence. Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. One to two years administrative support experience.
Physical Requirements:
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects. The work is typically performed in an office.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Knowledge of computers and job related software programs. Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and functions. Skill in the provision of customer services. Skill in public and interpersonal relations. Skill in oral and written communication.
