Anticipated Secondary Secretarial Position
The Interstate 35 Community School District has an opening for an anticipated Secondary Secretarial Position. Our secondary team is seeking a dynamic, organized, and dependable team player to serve as a secretary in our secondary building. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a high level of confidentiality to effectively manage daily front-office operations. Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent
Technology:
Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and student information management systems.
Clerical Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of English grammar and spelling
Basic bookkeeping skills
Ability to operate standard office equipment effectively.

Multitasking:
Ability to manage frequent phone calls, student needs, visitors and other interruptions while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Interpersonal Skills:
Welcoming and approachable demeanor when interacting with students, parents, staff, and community members.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy requirements regarding student files and staff personnel data
Calm Under Pressure:
Ability to respond to unexpected situations, including minor student illness, scheduling changes, and other building needs, with patience, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain a cooperative attitude and positive public relations with the school district patrons and keep building principal informed of matters affecting the operation of the school.
Prepare administrative correspondence, notices, bulletins, newsletters, phone messages, maintain filing systems; sort and distribute mail and perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Organize and maintain student attendance system
Process student transfer records, and requesting records for newly enrolled students as appropriate to the assigned grade level.
Address immediate problems that arise in principal's absence within delegated areas of responsibility.
Print report cards, handbooks, parent communications and other materials; prepare and collate material for faculty and principal.
Update enrollment cards, register, and class lists.
Maintain knowledgeable of and appropriately interpret and support district and building policies and regulations.
Maintain knowledgeable of current office practices, procedures, and forms.
Provide schedules and necessary information to substitutes for certified and classified staff.
Serve as the building receptionist and provide professional and courteous assistance to students, parents staff and visitors.
Assist with student registration at the beginning of each school year.
Assist the school nurse with ill or injured students when nurse is unavailable.
