Full-Time Custodian
Join our Custodial Team! Interstate 35 Community School is seeking a dependable, motivated and team-oriented individual to join our highly effective custodial team as a full-time custodian. This is a year-round position that plays an important role in keeping our schools clean, safe, welcoming and ready for students, staff, families, and community members. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, demonstrates initiative and enjoys being part of a team that supports our school district. What We Offer

Opportunities to develop a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and facility-care skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, gyms, weight rooms, cafeterias, lobbies, and other school areas
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, clean surfaces, empty trash, and maintain restrooms and common areas
- Clean windows, doors, lockers, walls, and other accessible surfaces.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness while using appropriate cleaning products and equipment
- School Events & Activities
- Assist with setup and cleanup for athletic events, activities, and special events.
- Prepare gyms and other spaces for use by students and community members. Help secure the building before and after events, including appropriate lighting doors and equipment
- Summer Cleaning & Preventative Maintenance
- Participate in the district's annual summer cleaning program
- Deep-clean classrooms, hallways, carpets, locker areas, gym floors, furniture, walls, fixtures, and other building surfaces
- Strip, scrub, seal, and refinish floors as needed
- Assist with moving and returning classroom furniture and preparing spaces for the upcoming school year. Basic Maintenance
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance when appropriate, such as changing light bulbs, tightening hardware, repairing pencil sharpeners, replacing covers, and addressing simple maintenance issues.
- Help maintain desks, chairs, and other school equipment when possible.
- Report major maintenance concerns to the Director of Buildings
- Assist with additional projects as directed by the administration or the Director of Buildings

Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and the safe us of cleaning chemicals
Knowledge of the Chemical Right to Know Program, or the ability to learn and follow applicable requirements
The ability to maintain confidentiality
The ability to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position
Equivalent qualifications or experience may be considered as determined appropriate by the Board of Education
