PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- Performs a variety of clerical support tasks involving the keeping of school records; the computer processing and production of documents and reports; provide reception, telephone answering, filing and related support services; the receipt and processing of operational data; the operation of multi-purpose office equipment and related work assignments as required; the maintenance of school records; computer processing and production of documents and reports; management of student records including grades and schedules; filing and related support services.

QUALIFICATIONS
- (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education, Certification/Licensure, Experience, Equipment) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer, printer, ten-key calculator, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, etc.
Ability to understand the meaning of words and to use them effectively when speaking and writing to properly convey or receive information. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents and other staff members. Strong background with technology. Management of student databases and grading. Knowledge of scheduling Ability to think analytically and problem solve effectively. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of specialized training beyond high school preferred. Experience Two to three years of secretarial, administrative or office management experience involving computer entry, accounting and records management experience. Equipment Office equipment such as computers, two-way radios, multi-line phone system, cell phone, copier, and fax machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The following duties are normal for this position.
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Serve as receptionist; greet parents, faculty and students; direct visitors to appropriate locations; resolve problems personally or refer to principal or appropriate staff member; keep accurate list of calls, messages, information requests, problems and solutions and meetings and appointments. PowerSchool web page (announcements) Support the work of the Principal and Associate Principal. Update information in PowerSchool (attendance, locker info, student pictures, etc ) on a regular basis. Work on purchasing and budgeting Constuct weekly newsletter and other daily communications (like sub list) Troubleshoot and assist students, faculty, and staff with questions regarding forms, computers, office equipment, Powerschool, etc. Intercom programming (bell schedules, alerts, paging). Inform administration of urgent matters and determine when delegation of tasks is needed. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members. Must be able to multitask in a busy environment. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain a reliable attendance record. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement.
Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking. Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working. Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids. Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.
Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
