SUMMARY:
This position will assist the Teacher Librarian with the tasks required to effectively run a library, assist with library lessons, organize materials and help students find the resources they need.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise daily book collection/return
Monitor student behavior during library class and check out times.
Observe and discuss student progress and/or concerns with District Teacher Librarian or classroom teacher.
Assist with students in various settings.
Train appropriate personnel to use the Circulation System.
Catalog new materials, run overdue notices, process lost books/fine and update student records
Help to maintain an organized library (this could include but not be limited to processing new books, shelve books, pull books, inventory, )
Help with technology (assign & repair)
Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and Board Policies.
All other duties as assigned by the principal
Assist in maintaining computer programs.
Assist with Library lessons
Support lesson plans as assigned by the District Teacher Librarian
Perform various typing and/or copying assignments Make recommendations for books to replace or remove from collection Maintain list of supplies needing to be purchased
Update, create/assemble materials for monthly displays

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Degree or higher
Experience working in educational or having knowledge of the Circulation System is preferred
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with diverse student populations.
