Construction Admin Assistant and Safety Support

Job Description

We are looking for a responsible Construction Administrative Assistant and Safety Support Person. Duties include providing support to our customers, supervisors, employees, and office manager. Assistance will be required in managing our company's general administrative and safety activities. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication, be self motivated, honest, reliable, and love learning new things associated with the steel construction trade. If you have previous experience in the Construction Admin and Safety field and familiarity within our industry, we'd like to meet you. Must have a valid driver's license and pass a drug test. Fast paced environment for the person that enjoys a variety of tasks and prefers to dress in jeans and work boots as we do have to visit the jobsites for a variety of reasons. Not looking for someone that has that "it's not my job" attitude. Looking for a team player. Responsibilities Onboarding of new employees and filing appropriate paper work Annual safety training updates Preparation and filing of weekly toolbox talks Child Support maintenance Develop and maintain a filing system Update and maintain office policies and procedures Keep accurate attendance records Maintain contact lists Maintain all vehicle and equipment log books Renewal of vehicle plates and compliance reports Process 401K and Match Contributions Provide general support to visitors Assist walk in customers with steel purchases Willing to learn how to operate a forklift for occasional deliveries Prefer to have OSHA 10/30 or willingness to obtain Assist on local shutdowns as needed Assist office manager with other tasks Jobsite deliveries Tool inventory Skills Proven experience as an internal assistant Knowledge of OSHA and Construction Safety Working knowledge of office equipment like printers and fax machines Proficiency in MS Office Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work Attention to detail and problem solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task High School degree; additional qualifications in the Construction safety and administrative side will be a plus Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus Follow through on projects and orders

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
