Job Description
MP&L Administrative Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
The MP&L Administrative Assistant has a dual role that will work with, and report directly to, the Supply Chain and Quality Supervisor. This role will split administrative duties between the WSP logistics and warehouse departments.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for performing all duties and activities to create a safe, environmentally compliant workplace that produces high-quality products in a cost-efficient manner. Must perform all duties and activities in a manner that is aligned with our company values: Integrity, Humility, Innovation, Openness to Change, Collaboration, Excellence, and Customer Focus.
Provide general administrative support using scanners, copiers, and computers.
Responsible for learning and understanding warehouse inventory.
Checking deliveries against packing slips and placing items into physical inventory, which requires some heavy lifting.
Creating purchase requisitions using SAP.
Organize and maintain physical and digital filing systems to ensure information is organized and easily accessible. Safely operate forklifts to load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and storage racks.
Responsible for printing, scanning, tracking, and mailing manifests for each customer. Responsible for ensuring work is accurate and timely within all departments. Responsible for any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Positive attitude with a customer focus is a must.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Ability to multi-task.
Must be self-motivated.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must complete and maintain any assigned company required training and certifications.
Ability to learn and apply all required training in a safe and efficient manner.
Basic knowledge and use of writing and arithmetic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. at waist level for short durations.
Ability to work at heights. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, push, or pull for extended periods of time.
Ability to obtain forklift certification
Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents including routine check on forklift equipment.
