Office Communications Assistant Reports to: Executive Director -
Non-Exempt Position Summary:
The Office & Communications Assistant is a part-time staff member of the Wamego Area Chamber of Commerce and reports to the Executive Director. This position supports the day-to-day operation of the Chamber office by serving as a primary point of contact for members, vendors, visitors, and the public; managing routine communications; maintaining accurate records; and assisting with digital communications and social media. The position is approximately 20-25 hours per week during regularly scheduled weekday hours. This position does not require event attendance, although it would be preferred.
Responsibilities :
Answer incoming phone calls and emails, respond to routine questions, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member. Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Executive Director and Chamber staff and assist with general office operations. Prepare and send Chamber communications to members, vendors, and community partners, including email updates, notices, and other routine correspondence. Maintain timely and accurate content on the Chamber and CVB websites. Assist with creating, scheduling, and posting content for Chamber social media channels. Process annual membership investments and maintain accurate member information in the member management system. Assist with creating, processing, and reconciling invoices, payments, and other routine financial documents. Maintain organized digital and paper files, contact lists, records, and office materials. Provide courteous front-office service to members, visitors, vendors, and community partners. Perform other administrative and communications duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience working in a professional office or customer service setting preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Professional and courteous customer service skills. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google applications, email platforms, and the ability to learn Chamber management software and other digital tools. Basic familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications. Ability to organize and prioritize work, manage details accurately, and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a small team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when handling member, financial, and organizational information. Ability to work consistently during regularly scheduled weekday hours.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
