Job Description
Job Overview The Administrative Assistant at First Christian Church will have the opportunity to serve our amazing church family in providing administrative support, order and organization. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to engage not only with Church members on a regular basis, but also with the community in need, connecting people with resources. Interaction with members of the broader community is a regular requirement of this position, connecting those community members with financial assistance and resources.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Provide professional and courteous office communications in person, phone, mail, email
- Provide administrative support to pastor and staff
- Answer phones and greet visitors
- Prepare weekly bulletins
- Count Sunday offering and other donations with a church volunteer each week
- Make bank deposits, record income in Shelby
- Prepare financial reports
- Execute bill payments, check requests, and credit card payments
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
- Maintain Amplify membership database
- Collect timesheets and complete payroll of all church employees
- Make pledges and payments to utility companies and IDs for Tuesday Outreach
- Create and maintain electronic and physical filing systems
- Managing accounts and performing basic bookkeeping
- Performing data entry and analysis
- Assisting with event planning and coordination
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies
- Processing expense reports
- Managing travel arrangements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Preferred bachelor's in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.OFFICE HOURS
Monday-Friday:
