Position Summary:
The School Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the operations of West Springfield High School by providing administrative assistance to both the Special Education Department and the Main Office. This position splits time equally between these two areas, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with word processing, data entry, filing, and other general clerical tasks
  • Provide support to the Special Education Department, including preparing documents, scheduling meetings, and maintaining confidential records
  • Perform front office duties such as answering phones, assisting students and visitors, and covering other clerk stations as needed
  • Manage tasks involving Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping
  • Utilize student information systems, such as PowerSchool, for data entry and maintenance
  • Support school events, communications, and other activities as assigned by the principal or designee.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proven ability to multitask and maintain organized, accurate records
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool) is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and the public
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately
  • Demonstrated confidentiality, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Salary range: S-6 (WSSCEA), $20.21/hr
