We are looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our front office team and contribute to the smooth operation of our practice.
Job Summary:
Northern Maine Skin Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to support our busy dermatology practice. This position is responsible for scheduling patients, providing administrative support, and assisting at the front desk as needed to ensure a smooth, professional, and friendly experience for every patient.
Responsibilities :
Scheduling & Patient Communication Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Optimize provider schedules to reduce gaps and improve clinic flow Make reminder calls or send messages for upcoming appointments Communicate clearly with patients about appointment times and required paperwork Update and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referring provider details Administrative Support Answer and route phone calls; take accurate messages Monitor shared email/voicemail and respond or forward as appropriate Assist with processing referrals and medical records requests Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record (EMR) Support basic billing/insurance tasks as directed (e.g., confirm insurance status) Help manage office forms, prior authorization information, and other documentation Front Desk & Check-In/Check-Out Greet patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner Check patients in and out of appointments Verify insurance and ID and ensure forms are completed Collect co-pays and patient balances according to practice policy Schedule follow-up visits and provide visit summaries or instructions Assist with managing waiting room flow and communicating arrival status to clinical staff Teamwork & Professionalism Provide backup coverage at the front desk as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA Participate in staff meetings and trainings Help keep front office and shared workspaces clean, organized, and well-stocked

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
