Petoskey, MI Summary Saint Francis Xavier's Administrative Assistant is people oriented, understands the Catholic faith, can multi-task, has an understanding of secretarial duties, and is highly organized. The office administrative assistant will report to the Pastor and office manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs general secretarial duties. Answers and directs office telephone calls or messages. Responds to parish emails in a timely fashion. Organizes and electronically files emails. Maintains parish calendar with scheduled appointments, meetings and special events. Participates in parish staff meetings and diocesan workshops/trainings. Prepares parish bulletin, parish announcements, and other communications. When completed gives to Pastor for final approval. Establishes and maintains office record-keeping filing systems. Required Qualifications Ideally a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. High School diploma, associates degree preferred, with 2-3 years of experience in an office setting. Possesses a high degree of integrity and confidentiality. Have good computer and typing skills. Have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Be willing to learn church software. Strong organization and planning skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proven high level of attention to detail, and proficiency at multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged Periods of sitting at a desk and working with hands in repetitive motion tasks. Requires some standing, stooping and bending. Some lifting of up to 15 pounds
