Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team at Schoolcraft Elementary as a full-time Administrative Assistant. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's administrative functions, providing support to staff, students, and families. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for fostering a positive educational environment. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and parents, providing excellent customer service and support. Manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence, directing inquiries to appropriate staff members as needed. Assist in the preparation and organization of school events, meetings, and activities. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, enrollment, and health information. Support teachers and staff with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing supplies, and preparing materials. Process and maintain financial records, including budgeting, invoicing, and purchasing supplies. Coordinate transportation and logistics for school activities and field trips. Assist with coverage of school lunch room/recess Provide general clerical support, including filing, data entry, and managing office equipment. Collaborate with the school leadership team to enhance communication and foster a positive school culture. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred. Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with students, parents, and staff. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and experience with financial record-keeping is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
