Job Summary Under the supervision of the Accreditation Manager, this position will exist to provide analysis, monitoring and administering of the accreditation program for the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP); this includes activities regarding the agency accreditations through the national governing body Commission on the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). This position provides technical assistance throughout the accreditation process including 1) review and analyze the agency's response and compliance to CALEA standards, 2) monitor accreditation program activities and progress reports, 3) ensures accreditation compliance with administrative and reporting provisions of CALEA. The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Two (2) • years of experience providing advanced administrative support, paraprofessional, or technical program support.
Experience should include the following:
Experience entering, maintaining, auditing, or managing data and electronic records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Skill in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, to prepare reports, track information, maintain records, and communicate program activities. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, standards, manuals, or regulatory guidance to ensure compliance with organizational or program requirements. Experience reviewing documents, reports, or records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures or program requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills sufficient to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, provide administrative support, and prepare reports, correspondence, or compliance-related documentation Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. An associate degree may substitute for six months of experience or a bachelor degree may substitute for twelve months of service. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of CALEA and MNLEAP (state accreditation) standards. Experience with PowerDMS and NEOGOV software. Ability to display proper etiquette, professionalism, and confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively organize work, follow procedures and directions. Experience training staff and the development of financial training materials. Experience coordinating, monitoring, or supporting program activities, projects, or operational processes to ensure timely completion and compliance with established standards or requirements.
Physical Requirements Light:
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
