Job Description

Job Summary Perform on-site monitoring, customer service, and customer direction at the city's brush and yard waste site. This is a seasonal position that runs April through November. Schedule through October is Tuesdays 7:45a.m.
  • 4:00 p.m., Saturdays 6:45a.m.
  • 3:00 p.m. and Sundays 11:45 a.m
  • 4:00 p.
m. and then only weekends in November. Additional hours performing parks or natural resources maintenance on weekdays may be available if desired. Duties and Responsibilities Arrive to site on time to set up and open for residents Provide excellent customer service and directions to site users Check IDs to ensure site users are city residents Inspect materials in vehicles that are coming into the site to ensure acceptability Inspect vehicles leaving the site to monitor quantities of picked up compost Record type and estimate amounts of materials entering the site Monitor site and notify appropriate city staff when maintenance is needed Maintain area around check-in station to be kept tidy and free from graffiti and litter Perform other duties as assigned or apparent. Minimum Qualifications Valid driver's license and ability to drive a city vehicle.
Ability to:
Communicate effectively and navigate difficult customer service situations. Work independently with minimal supervision. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials, including ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Invitations to interview will be based upon an assessment of education and experience. Applications and questions must be filled out completely for consideration.
