Job Description

Purpose of Job:
The Office Assistant will assist in the day-to-day operations of the
Funeral Home Qualifications:
  • Work at all times to maintain the image of Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel as a positive one in the public view
  • Maintain a professional and personable appearance and presence.
  • Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to manage distressing and stressful situations with sensitivity and care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrable empathy and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Availability to work nights, weekend and holidays.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Have a valid Missouri driver's license.
  • A Missouri notary or willing to get.
  • Be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must be highly organized with attention to detail.
Task and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the funeral staff in preparation in printed materials, video production, etc.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable records, follow up on services due, and process payments when received.
  • Follow up on death certificate status with doctors or medical examiners offices.
  • Assist in preparing the chapel by cleaning, setting up lights and chairs and arranging flowers for viewings and services.
  • Work with the funeral director with personalized items as requested by families to be used during visitation and/or funeral service.
  • Assisting guest arriving for arrangements, visitations or funeral by greeting them.
  • Ensuring adherence to the funeral wishes of the bereaved family.
  • Clean, store and move necessary funeral equipment as needed to set up and clean up after visitations and /or funeral services.
  • Answer the telephone in a polite and empathic manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
