Position Summary:
FPC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative, communications, and operational support to the ministry of First Presbyterian Church under the direction of the Senior Pastor and church leadership. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the church office, ensuring a welcoming environment, maintaining confidential records, coordinating communications, supporting church operations, and assisting staff, officers, volunteers, and members in advancing the church's mission. The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, initiative, attention to detail, and flexibility. You should be comfortable communicating within all levels of the organization, including ministry partners and individuals inside and outside the organization. You should be able to quickly prioritize tasks, coordinate multiple requests for time, and be able to anticipate needs. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary administrative support for the church office, responding to calls, visitors, correspondence, and ministry requests with professionalism. Prepare, edit, distribute, and maintain church communications, including bulletins, newsletters, announcements, website content, and social media updates. Maintain accurate church records, membership databases, official documents, mailing lists, and office procedures. Coordinate the church calendar, facility use, special events, weddings, baptisms, and ministry activities. Coordinate office operations, including supplies, equipment, software, subscriptions, vendor relationships, and technology support. Coordinate facility maintenance and repair requests with the Property Committee and outside vendors. Perform other administrative and ministry support duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Demonstrates a mature Christian faith and commitment to the mission of the church. 2-3 years of professional administrative or office experience. Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology. Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and provide excellent customer service. Preferred Qualifications Church or ministry experience. Experience with digital communications, social media, website management, or database administration Experience with facilities, vendor coordination, contracts, or property management.
