Job Description

The Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE) is seeking an internal candidate for the position of Membership Coordinator in our Helena office. Position Overview The Membership Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate membership, dues, and contribution records for MFPE members and supporting local union leaders and staff with membership processes and procedures. This is an associate staff position that reports to the MFPE Executive Director and requires some in-state travel. Qualifications High school diploma required. Experience and/or formal training in data entry, database administration, and record-keeping. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Commitment to providing responsive and professional service to MFPE members and local union leaders. Valid driver's license. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update membership records in MFPE's automated membership systems. Process new memberships, membership changes, transfers, resignations, and other membership transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Process and mail monthly dues statements , track payments, and support timely dues collection. Maintain accurate dues records and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies Prepare membership materials , including rosters, reports, labels, manuals, and annual renewal mailings. Support membership data collection and maintenance, including bargaining unit and local membership information. Provide training, technical assistance, and support to local union officers regarding membership procedures and processes. Draft and distribute routine correspondence to local unions and members including correspondence to recover rejected dues payments Assist with office communications, including answering and routing phone calls, maintaining email lists, and managing mail distribution. Support MFPE membership data programs such as
IMS / 360 / VAN.
Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems. Support MFPE's membership initiatives, including EZ-Dues and Join Now Provide backup support for other staff as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Compensation & Benefits This position is covered by the applicable

agreement and salary schedule .
