Job Description
Church Administrative Assistant Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Part-Time | Approximately 20 Hours per Week $15-$20 per Hour, Based on Experience Position Summary Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church is seeking an organized, dependable, and welcoming Church Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day operations and ministries of the church. This part-time position provides administrative support to the Pastor, church leadership, ministries, and congregation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, enjoys working with people, and can effectively manage a variety of administrative and financial responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Provide general administrative and office support for the Pastor, church leadership, and ministries. Record weekly tithes, offerings, and online contributions and maintain accurate financial records. Enter invoices, receipts, expenses, and other financial information using QuickBooks and Excel. Assist with monthly account reconciliation, financial reports, annual giving statements, and audit preparation. Prepare and distribute weekly church communications, announcements, and Sunday bulletins. Maintain the church website, social media, calendars, and other digital communications. Maintain accurate membership, attendance, baptism, and other church records. Answer phone calls, process mail, respond to routine inquiries, and direct requests to the appropriate person. Maintain church facility and meeting calendars and assist with meeting preparation. Assist with administrative needs related to worship services, funerals, memorials, and special events. Maintain organized electronic and paper files and assist with annual church reporting. Order office and other supplies as needed. Qualifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Comfortable learning and using various computer systems and online platforms. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and personal information. Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with church members, visitors, volunteers, and community organizations.
