Job Description

The Program Administrator for the High School Student Support Program provides leadership at the new standalone specialty focus program and supports the staff, students, and families by fulfilling the leadership duties for which they are responsible. Duties include, but are not limited to, staffing, appraisal, student discipline, scheduling, professional learning, school improvement, parent communication, and other duties comparable to those typically associated with building leaders. 220-day Employee

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS

Regular, dependable in person attendance is an essential function of this position.

Language Skills:

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from parents, staff, and others. Ability to speak about the school district to community groups. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with abstract and concrete information. Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, utilizing input from others as appropriate.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in area of instruction, leadership, behavior management, and other areas as needed. Skill in effecting good employee relations including the ability to function effectively in confrontational situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to resolve conflicts. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others. Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude; and being sensitive to others' needs. Is honest and ethical. Must maintain composure, keep emotions in check, control anger and avoid aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations. Job requires accepting criticism, dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations; and willingness to be present at after school, evening and weekend school activities, in addition to daily responsibilities.
