Job Description

Summary:
Performs complex secretarial support work for the Water Utility office. Acts as a primary point of contact for internal staff and the public, ensuring the efficient operation of departmental workflows and adherence to municipal policy and procedures.
Duties:
Administrative Support
  • Assists in the daily operations of the Water Utility office, including scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, screening phone calls, and managing incoming and outgoing correspondence. Records Management
  • Maintain accurate departmental files, records, purchase orders, invoices, and payroll tracking in compliance with township policies and guidelines. Customer Service
  • Serve as a courteous and knowledgeable liaison to residents, contractors, and other municipal departments regarding water service inquiries, billing questions, and work orders. Meeting Coordination
  • Prepare agendas, compile reports, and record minutes for departmental or board meetings as assigned. Procurement Support
  • Assist with ordering office supplies, tracking equipment maintenance schedules, and processing departmental requisition forms. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
  • Coordinate with other municipal departments and divisions to ensure seamless administrative processing.
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent. An associate degree or coursework in business administration, office administration, public administration, or a related field is preferred. Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative or office support experience, preferably in a municipal government or other unionized public sector environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and modern office management software. Successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Hourly Rate:
$21.88
  • $31.
97. Part-time; temporary (this is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent); not to exceed twenty-eight (28) hours per week. Compensation commensurate with experience.
