Job Description
Description Receives incoming calls to the Criminal Investigation Division, screens calls, providing information and assistance, or transfers to the appropriate detective, division, or outside agency. Provides assistance to members of the department with various forms and research Essential Duties Assists outside agencies in their investigations by providing researched information. Assists victims, witnesses and suspects regarding criminal procedures. Maintains the department's contingency checkbook and reconciles monthly. Maintains the division's contingency accounts and prepares monthly reports, submits through the chain of command for review and approvals. Provides assistance to supervisors in preparation of monthly divisional reports. Prepares and mails screened case letters. Receives faxes and emails from the District Attorney's office and other outside agencies and presents them to the appropriate section for proper follow-up. Acts as a backup to the Administrative Assistant, Police Operations Assistant and Investigative Aide in their absence. Receives all subpoenas from City Court, District Attorney's Office, and disseminates all the subpoenas through the Power DMS System.
Vehicle Compliance Form entry:
To be in compliance with the State DMV for the ordering of undercover plates and/or renewal requests. Assists detectives in scanning documents into Spillman. Prepares and processes purchase orders, ensuring compliance with city policy and state procurement procedures. Solicits quotes from vendors for services, material and equipment utilized in the Police Department. Prepares check requests. Purchases and maintains adequate inventory; issues departmental office supplies, uniforms and equipment. May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned.Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent required. Previous clerical experience preferred.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Standard Microsoft Software and Quick Books. General knowledge of accounting principles preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with citizens that may be agitated or upset. Ability to perform duties with a high degree of attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Police staff, various other agencies and general public.LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid state issued driver's license required. Ability to obtain Notary public certification within one year from date of hire.SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The City of Hobbs will provide 80% to 90% Heath Insurance Coverage from Single to Family coverage. Employees are eligible for 100% short-term disability coverage provided by the City of Hobbs. Employer PERA contributions 14.8% for general, 28.775% forHPD, 30.9

pay- $6,000 per year (if applicable). PTO accruals start at 12 hours per month (144 hours per year) and progressively increase based on years of service to 20 hours per month (240 hours per year) at year 21. Bilingual Pay
