Staff Assistant (SL-2)

Salary:

$54,090 - $56,000 The Staff Assistant will report to the Couper-Owens Center for Community Schools Budget and Contracts Specialist. Housed at Binghamton University, the role of this position will be to support the organization and management of office needs as well as process and track expenditures:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of the financial functions of the C-O Center for Community Schools program Assist in developing and tracking staff budgets Performing routine monthly financial reconciliation for internal and external purposes Provide liaison between the Binghamton University Research Foundation, the Binghamton University Foundation, and the Binghamton University Business Office and the C-O Center for Community Schools directors Support program initiatives such as BUCS LIFE, intern in-services, and C-O Center hosted conferences Support C-O Center MOU process Supervise work-study student assistant Assist Budget and Contracts Specialist with preparation of grant application budgets Gather research and statistical data as requested May coordinate, administer, and monitor social media presence and program outreach Serve as primary point of contact with CHOW food pantry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to recognize and protect confidential information and exercise judgement, tact, and diplomacy in handling sensitive information Ability to work as a contributing member in a team-oriented environment, interacting with internal and external colleagues and partners Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines Initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgement, organization, communication (verbal and written), and time management Attention to detail and follow-up skills

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) Experience working with Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace Experience working in a business office Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

Experience supervising student staff Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
