Position:
Provide administrative support and assistance to Dr. Silverman by utilizing available resources and technology to achieve objectives. This job requires a high level of independent work and confidentiality. Handling ad hoc projects. Respond tactfully to requests from patients, outside vendors, insurance companies, and medical facilities on various administrative and Chiropractic-related issues, focusing on customer service.
Office Administrative Support:
Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls, taking and relaying messages, booking/canceling patient appointments, preparing correspondence, faxing, copying, filing, taking inventories, ordering supplies, calling insurance companies for payments, receiving co-pays from patients, and using a specific Chiropractic software to access and create patient data.
Projects:
Assist the doctor with special projects: social media, etc. May perform other related responsibilities as required. Social media knowledge is a huge plus.
Essential Functions/Working Conditions:
Be able to work independently and apply critical thinking in managing daily tasks of a doctor's office, with moderate supervision from Dr. Silverman. The ability to be flexible and cooperative, maintain a cheerful disposition, and be a team player in completing assignments. Work is performed in a comfortable environment requiring prompt responses to numerous requests, continuous priority changes, and the ability to react professionally to unknown or unplanned situations. This position requires the ability to express thoughts clearly and logically, apply critical thinking, and demonstrate confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Phone coverage
- Liaising with patients
- Scheduling appointments
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Maintaining the filing system
- As-needed project work
Required Skills:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Excel a plus
- Proactive and with a friendly/cheerful disposition
- Good judgment and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Some previous administrative experience
